FOX Attacks Homeless Veterans
A recent study by the National Alliance to End Homelessness reported that there are roughly 200,000 homeless veterans in the US. FOX's Bill O'Reilly claims that this is a lie and that there are no homeless veterans.

Merry-Go-Round Water Pumps
This organization distributes water pumps to areas of the world that are in desperate need of clean water. The pumps, however, are powered by children's merry-go-rounds. The more they play, the more clean water is produced for the whole village.
What a great idea!

The Voice of the People
This was the question of the night. During tonight's ALF-CIO Democratic debate, Steve Skvara, a disabled, steel worker from Indiana, shared his heart-wrenching story of how the company he gave 34 years of his life to, forced him into retirement and slashed his pension and healthcare. Now he can no longer provide for his family.
Steve's story is the story of millions and millions of people in this country whose lives are being destroyed by corporations. And it was so moving to see someone stand up and ask the politicians what they plan to do to stop this American shame. Candidate John Edwards fields the question.

My New Favorite Politician
Meet Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski (D). This mild-looking man did the coolest thing last week. In an effort to raise awareness about how difficult it is for those living under the poverty line to survive on the $21 a week food budget, Gov. Ted and his wife took a weeklong challenge to live on food stamps. Call up your governors and ask them to do the same!
